Long time, no blog

Hi all, yes, I am still here, quietly working away in the corner, not really up to much worth blogging about. This spring and summer has been a bit of a write-off due to illness, but fingers crossed the end is nigh and the meds kick in, hopefully propelling me back into the world of the happy and healthy. (Pain is poo. Don't try it at home, folks.)

Anyhoo, I have - as per usual - managed to come up with three - 3 - ideas for my Nano project this year. One historical and broad story which involves a LOT of research (Liverpool museums, here I come!), one Crime in the Community type whodunnit with a very reluctant heroine requiring a LOT of clever plotting, and one attempt at some sort of light-but-not-too-fluffy chick lit requiring a lot less of both. With so many different tones, themes and possibilities, I will have no excuse whatsoever to sit there staring blankly into the middle distance hysterically thinking WhatnowWhereisthisgoingIcan'trememberanywordsHelp! As I frequently do. With Dana's eight different instantly accessible work spaces I'll just dedicate one for each story and hop between them if and when the mood strikes me. I am really looking forward to it, and hope that there will be a nice group in Chester this year. I suppose I should start going in every so often to check out possible places to meet up, with and without wi-fi etc.

I am enjoying the planning at the moment, but I won't actually start writing until November. In the meantime there are deadlines, as per usual, and a seriously downsized trip to Arles. But unfortunately no proper walking this autumn. I'll just have to make do with sitting at a café in the south of France nursing a glass of nice red and jotting down plot ideas and snippets of description ... it's a hard life.
